Visual & Web Designer

Hello, I'm Brittany Steiner a designer with a focus in creating websites, UX strategy, and creating marketing collateral for agencies, startups, and small businesses.

  • Interested in transforming your website into a more captivating and emotionally resonant space? My approach to interactive web design is all about crafting experiences that deeply engage and connect with your audience. Let's work together to make your website not just a destination, but a memorable journey for every user.

  • In my UX Design and Strategy work, I focus on real-world user challenges and market insights. My approach involves a hands-on toolkit that includes analyzing competitors, conducting user tests, and gathering feedback through surveys. I blend analytical thinking with creative solutions, making sure that every design choice is informed by real data and a genuine understanding of what users need. This approach leads to creating user experiences that are not only user-friendly but also genuinely enjoyable, making for a better overall journey for the user.

  • UX/Web Projects
My approach varies depending on the project's scope, but fundamentally, I begin every project by understanding the goals, business, and target audience. This ensures that the designs are strategically grounded and not solely focused on visuals. Given a sufficient budget, I prefer to conduct thorough research on the business and target audience. I believe in a collaborative approach, valuing transparency, welcoming feedback, and embracing an iterative process. Rather than limiting the vision with mockups, I opt for prototypes to facilitate a better understanding. Emphasizing collaboration, I also prioritize a strong designer-developer relationship and strive to ease the handoff process.

    Visual Design
While focusing more on visuals, I still approach visual-centric projects with strategic planning. It begins with understanding the brand and objectives of the project. During the revision stage, I maintain open communication and guide the direction with my design expertise. My approach is not about pushing ideas onto clients, but rather about educating and collaborating with them to discover the best final design.

  • Throughout my career as a designer, I've embraced a wide variety of tools and have always been keen on exploring new ones that enhance and streamline my workflow. Here are some of my preferred tools and software, categorized for ease of reference:

    Design + Testing:
Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Lottie, Useberry, and more.

    Client Communication:
    Slack, Gmail

    Project Management:
Monday.com, Asana, Jira, Trello, among others.

  • In assessing the success of my UX designs, I rely on a mix of user feedback, analytical data, and how well the design aligns with the business goals. I keep an eye on important metrics like how much users are engaging, the rates at which they convert, and overall user satisfaction to see how the design is doing. Additionally, I conduct user tests and gather feedback to really understand how users are interacting with the design and to figure out where it can be improved. In the end, the true measure of a UX design's success is how effectively it fulfills the project's objectives and meets the needs of the users.

  • I really love the collaboration aspect of projects, especially when I get to work with people who are just as excited about the project as I am. It's great to be around problem solvers who are open to giving and receiving feedback. Clear communication is super important in these situations, and I've found that the tools we use can make a big difference. Depending on who I'm working with and where we are in the project, I tend to use Figma for leaving comments directly on designs, Slack for quick chats, and Loom for when I need to explain something in more detail. Working remotely has its perks, like flexibility, but it can be tough to get everyone together for a meeting. That's where Loom really helps out, allowing me to share my thoughts and updates without needing to sync up everyone's schedules.
